Type to click 0.5 uploaded

November 24, 2007 – 11:43 pm
I have uploaded Type to Click 0.5 which now provides 1 key and 2 key overlays in addition to the original 3 key overlay.  The click now happens on the first character of the sequence to reduce confusion between modes.  Another new feature is that the spacing of the characters on the overlay can be controlled with the + and - keys.  Also, the application has been redesigned so that it works without taking input focus, which means that it can now be used in some situations where it didn't work before.

The help link was going to the wrong page - not very helpful.

Type to Click 0.2 uploaded

Just a small change - pressing the escape key now hides the grid.  Also entering a shortcut when the grid is open no longer hides it, as this could cause an issue when a long keypress could result in accidentally showing and then hiding the grid immediately afterwards.  The download link is on the main Type to Click page.

Version 0.6 - bug fixes

May 17, 2007 – 10:24 am
This version has a few minor bug fixes to do with the settings dialog box and one more more major bug fix that affected some multimonitor layouts. If you were getting a gap in the cloak at the top, this should fix it. Download it Here

Version 0.5 - added blind input mode

May 9, 2007 – 12:42 am
This is a really simple extra feature. Pressing Ctrl-Shift-F11 (configurable) cloaks the entire screen. If an app has keyboard focus before this feature is activated, it will still have it while cloaking is on, so you can type while hiding what you have written. This feature is intended to make it faster to write the first draft of a new piece of text by reducing the temptation to reread and edit the text before it is completed. Make sure your application has input focus before activating this to ensure that your typing is actually being recorded! Also, you will need to set the opacity to nearly 100% (right click on the taskbar icon and select "Settings..." in order to make the text unreadable. Also, I suggest working in a separate document when using blind input and then pasting into your main document later to avoid messing ...

Clutter Cloak 0.4 uploaded

Just a quick update, I decided to make it so that you can configure the minimum border length for a single edge in Photo/Video mode. Shorter values allow you to highlight smaller images, larger values reduce the chance of false positives in border detection. I have also changed the default value from 250 to 50 so this version will be more likely to get false positives but will be better at exposing small images. You can easily change it back if you preferred the old behavior and you will get the same results as with 0.3.

Clutter Cloak 0.3 released - now with photo/video mode

May 6, 2007 – 12:36 am
Clutter Cloak now has a photo/video mode which captures the screen and uses a simple border detection algorithm to work out the area to be left uncloaked. The default hotkey for this mode is Ctrl-Alt-F11. See the Clutter Cloak homepage for more info. This feature means that you can hide player controls in embedded video players and can isolate just about any photo displayed on the screen in any application, so long as it doesn't contain regions of more than one completely solid color and has a border or is displayed on a plain background. This new feature is untested on multiple monitor setups but will hopefully work OK. I'll be able to test it within the next few days. Let me know what you think.

Clutter Cloak 0.2 uploaded

All this does is fix the problem where four extra windows would appear in the Alt-Tab task switch display. Also, I'll mention that I've noticed that the program is a bit snappier when opacity is set to 100%, especially if you're using the option to cover all screens with the cloak. Please let me know if you find any other bugs.
